By Chembe Mbale
UPND Nkana Constituency losing Candidate FRANCIS MUKUKA has petitioned the election of ALEXANDER CHITEME in the High Court.
Mr. MUKUKA, has argued that the elections were characterised by electoral fraud, violence, bribery, and intimidation among others .
He further says Mr. CHITEME sent people to all 86 polling stations to intimidate and harass his observers and agents.
Mr MUKUKA also claimed that ballot papers were transported in an irregular way, and that this affected the results.
He has asked the court to cancel the Nkana constituency election results and order ECZ to hold fresh nominations within 90 days after the judgment.
In this matter, Mr. MUKUKA has also sued the Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- as the second respondent.
