CHITIMUKULU KANYANTA-MANGA II ARRIVES IN KATETE AS GUEST OF HONOUR FOR KULAMBA CEREMONY.
The Chitimukulu Kanyanta-Manga II yesterday arrived in Katete ahead of the annual Kulamba traditional ceremony of the Chewa people, scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Mkaika main arena.
The Mwinelubemba is attending the ceremony following a special invitation from his counterpart, King Kalonga Gawa Undi of the Chewa people, who named him Guest of Honour for this year’s celebrations.
The Mwinelubemba arrived in Katete at around 15:20 hours, where he was received by the Kalonga Gawa Undi alongside senior representatives of the Chewa Royal Establishment.
The Mwinelubemba is accompanied by a delegation of traditional leaders and dignitaries, including Chief Chipalo, Chief Munkonge, Chief Luchembe, Chief Mukwikile and Chief Nkweto.
