COURTS TO REOPEN AFTER THREE-DAY SECURITY CLOSURE

The Judiciary has announced the reopening of court premises following a three-day closure triggered by a security threat.

The courts were closed from Monday and remained shut through today, Wednesday, after security wings advised of heightened risks.

In a memorandum dated August 26, Chief Administrator Yvonne Nalomba says the security threat has since de-escalated, allowing members of staff to report for work on Thursday, August 27. However, police will remain visibly deployed at court premises, with staff urged to remain security conscious.
