DAVIES MWILA GIVES ATTACKERS 30 DAYS TO PUBLICLY APOLOGISE
…says he is a senior citizen who deserves respect
LUSAKA, Tuesday, October 13, 2026 — BM8/ECL Movement National Chairperson Davies Mwila has given individuals he accuses of attacking and harassing him 30 days to publicly apologise, while urging all those involved to report themselves to the police.
Mr Mwila said he had not harmed anyone and maintained that he had remained calm during the incident, which he said occurred at the Supreme Court premises after an altercation with Clement Tembo following proceedings related to the Lima Constituency election petition.
“I have given the people who attacked me one month to come and apologise because I have not hurt anyone,” he said.
“All those who were involved, they have to report themselves to the police,” he added.
The former Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary-General explained that he and his colleagues had attended court to show solidarity with Lima Member of Parliament Kelvin Kaunda in connection with an election petition.
He said that as they were leaving the court premises, some individuals began shouting remarks at him, but he chose not to respond.
“I remained quiet and I came out,” he said.
Mr Mwila further alleged that some United Party for National Development (UPND) members moved towards the staircase, prompting him to conceal himself because he did not consider himself part of the group.
He also alleged that youths were subsequently called upon to harass him.
The former Cabinet minister referred to a separate incident in Kanyama, where he claimed a boy was killed for playing a song associated with Brian Mundubile, popularly known as BM8.
“It is my life they are after. They want to kill me but they should know I am ready. It is all fake that they are against violence. They killed Mutotwe Kafwaya so what about me. We are ready for that,” he stated.
Commenting on political power and changes of government, Mwila cautioned political parties against assuming that their hold on power was permanent.
“Power is temporal. UNIP was in office and now they are out, MMD was in power and they are out, PF was in power and they are out. Even UPND will be out,” he said.
He added that Zambia had witnessed instances of people going into hiding or leaving the country following changes in government.
Mr Mwila said his record as a former Cabinet minister and PF secretary-general warranted respect, describing himself as a senior citizen who should be treated with dignity.
“I never insult people,” he said.

Are they not his own cadres who attacked him??
