DEADLINE NEARS FOR ECZ SUBMISSIONS UNDER MIXED-MEMBER REPRESENTATION SYSTEM
THE National Assembly has set September 17, 2026 as the deadline for the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to submit the names of Members of Parliament under the mixed‑member proportional representation system.
Clerk of the National Assembly Loveness Mayaka said the timeline is necessary to allow for internal processes, including the swearing‑in of members.
Her remarks were delivered in a speech read on her behalf by Deputy Clerk–Administration Sage Samuwika during the opening of a three‑day capacity‑building workshop for the Research Department of the National Assembly of Zambia, focusing on disability inclusion.
