BREAKING: DEADLY UKRAINIAN DRONE ATTACKS HIT MOSCOW REGION

Moscow, Russia: At least two people have been killed and six others injured in what Russian authorities described as a large-scale overnight Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region.

Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said Russian air defenses intercepted or destroyed 249 drones. The attacks reportedly sparked fires at several residential buildings and a warehouse.

In Sofyino, a 44-year-old woman was killed after a drone struck a three-story residential building. Five other people, including two children, were reportedly injured.

In Orekhovo-Zuyevo, an elderly man was killed after a drone struck a private house, according to Vorobyov.

In Moscow itself, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said a drone struck a building near one of the capital’s major highways. Part of an oil refinery was also damaged, while temporary flight restrictions were imposed at two airports.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian official said seven people, including two children, were killed in Russian strikes on Ukraine’s Kyiv and Sumy regions on Saturday.

The latest attacks come as Russia and Ukraine continue to intensify long-range strikes, frequently targeting energy infrastructure, transportation networks and logistics facilities.

Videos circulating on social media reportedly show explosions in the Moscow region and a burning warehouse, but the BBC said it could not independently verify the footage.

The reported casualties and damage remain subject to further confirmation as authorities continue assessing the impact of the attacks.
