“You have been hired, deliver or be fired”
George N. Mtonga, who is an ardent supporter of UPND and campaigned heavily for the party on Facebook is expressing disgust with the numerous excuses emerging from the UPND Camp.
He has called on President Hakainde Hichilema to deliver on all his campaign promises.
He has called for the reduction of fuel prices, to honour commitment on student meal allowances and other pledges made by President Hichilema.
Below are his postings on Facebook;
“No one forced us to make promises that we made during campaigns.”
“We did it ourselves and we must be judged by those promises. Stop creating excuses for things we said. We said it. We made the arguments so just deliver..”
“unless we are incompetent? You tell me you can create sql code during a job interview, i hire you and find that you can’t do it then i fire you.”
“The Zambian people were presented a manifesto and policies.”
“Thats why many of us supported and advocated for UPND for years. I do not expect us to renegade now that we have been hired.”
“Promises must be kept. Period and I will keep track of them.”
“I have no single desire for UPND other than seeing the team deliver for the Zambian people.”
“If we increase fuel prices it means we lied about our CV and ability to lower prices. Its that simple.”
“STOP TRYING TO EXPLAIN AWAY BROKEN PROMISES!! WE ALL LOVE BALLY BUT PROMISES MUST BE KEPT.”
“High level theories wont cut it. Someone is making 5,000 a month. Cost of living is up. What 100 kwacha bought in 2010 you need 1000 now for the bbasket of commodities. Salaries have not followed the same path ..”
“The Zambian people cant be penalized for the incompetence of their government. Get people with the brains to keep fuel prices low. Thats it”.
“You increase fuel prices, you are adding to the problems of high cost of living. Which will affect mainly people making less than 10,000/month who are already over taxed, debt ridden, in a society that continues to penalize them.”
“Zambians need a break for crying out loud!!
“What then is the value of Zambian citizenship if hardship is all the people know?”
“Smh. Literally the basis on which some of our children stood in the cold and voted for our president.”
“Musokotwane has been around for a long time, wouldnt he have prevented us from creating a campaign around this issue? Now we are looking stupid for not keeping promises. He has had access to the budget for more than 20years. He should have known this before we were chanting it as a campaign slogan.”
“ITS IN THE MANIFESTO.
