DID YOU KNOW THAT BRIAN MUNDUBILE IS THE FIRST BEMBA TO GO CLOSER AT BECOMING PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA?

Yes president Brian Mundubile is the first indigenous bemba to get closer at becoming president of Zambia.

No bemba from UluBemba Kingdom has ever ascended to the highest office of the land. This is not tribal talk but stating facts and keeping history books correct.

First president of Zambia Dr Kenneth Kaunda was born in Chinsali but was never a bemba but Chewa or Tumbuka of Eastern province. Second president of Zambia Frederick Titus Chiluba was not bemba but Ushi from Mwense Luapula.

Third republican president of Zambia Levy Patrick Mwanawasa was Lenje from Central/Lusaka province. Fourth Republican president Rupiah Bwezani Banda was Ngoni from Eastern province.

Fifth republican president of Zambia Michael Chilufya Sata was not bemba but Bisa from Chitulika- Mpika of Muchinga province. Sixth republican president of Zambia Edgar Chagwa Lungu was Nsenga from Petauke of Eastern province and our current republican president of Zambia Hakainde Hichilema is illa (Tonga) from Bweengwa of southern province.

Bembas have however seen majority being blessed with the position of Zambia’s vice president more than any other tribe in the country.

We had Mr Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe as vice president to first president Kaunda, we had Mr Lupando Mwape as vice president to third president Levy Patrick Mwanawasa. After Lupando Mwape, Mwanawasa appointed another bemba vice president in Dr Nevers Sekwila Mumba.

The current president Hakainde Hichilema has chosen to run with a tabwa vice president now running mate Dr Mutale Witika Nalumango from Kaputa Luapula province.

Put the facts right, UluBemba has never produced a president in Zambia just like many other tribes.

What should however be noted are regional blocs, at this point for arguments sake we can say, the Northern Bloc has produced 2 presidents (Chiluba and Sata), Eastern Bloc has produced 3 presidents (KK, RB and ECL),  Central Bloc has produced 1 president (Mwanawasa) and the Zambezi Region Bloc has produced 1 president (HH).
