DJ Warras Murder Case Takes Dramatic Turn as Woman Accused of Helping Orchestrate Killing Declines Bail and Prepares for High-Stakes Court Battle
The murder case of popular South African radio personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock has taken another dramatic turn after Hlengiwe Goodness Buthelezi, 40, appeared in court and chose not to apply for bail. Prosecutors allege that Buthelezi played a key role in the planning of the December 2025 killing by allegedly providing information about Stock’s movements and vehicle to the accused mastermind, Victor Majola.
According to investigators, the information allegedly helped facilitate the fatal shooting that claimed the life of DJ Warras outside the Zambesi Building near Johannesburg’s Carlton Centre. The alleged gunman, Mozambican national Joaquim Armando Pacula, has already been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in the murder.
Buthelezi was arrested in Msinga following a public tip-off and now faces charges including murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Her decision to forgo a bail application means she will remain in custody while awaiting further court proceedings.
She is expected to appear alongside co-accused Victor Majola during a pre-trial conference scheduled for 18 September, where prosecutors are expected to outline the case they intend to present before the Gauteng High Court.
The case continues to attract widespread public attention, with many South Africans closely following developments as authorities seek to establish who was responsible for the planning and execution of the killing. As court proceedings continue, all accused persons remain presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
