DO WE HAVE MORE OF THE JASON CHIPEPO MUSONDA KIND OF OFFICERS TO REDEEM ZAMBIA?

Every country has a police department that is mostly used to provide internal security to its citizens. In civilized nations they call it a service. Meaning it is there to serve people and not to kill as it is the case with our nation Zambia today with the Zambia police service turned into an extension security wing of the PF regime. Which in reality, is not a service but a force which has gone after its own citizens who try to express their displeasure in the way national affairs are managed.

Today in Zambia a lone protester like former officer Jason Chipepo Musonda who resigned due to unprofesionalism in the police as a result of poor leadership by those in high office is treated like a hardcore criminal with a battalion of officers for simply calling a spade a spade. On the other side, we have ministers stealing $17 million dollars, then go to India to beg for expired drugs and condoms for free and pocket the money being escorted to courts in a GRZ vehicle with a flag and acquitted.

The last seven years I have been actively writing about our nations’ governance system. I have had an opportunity to interact with many civil servants including those in various security wings. I may say, I’m always humbled to meet with high profile civil servants in our beloved mother Zambia. In every conversation I ask them why they don’t act in the interest of the country. The response I get in most cases is that we are just working, nothing we can do. This always makes me sad. It means our civil servants are made poor deliberately so that they cannot voice out on any wrong things. We see cadres and ministers throwing money at our poor citizens like they are dogs. This is the money that they ( PF) and Lungu have stolen from Zambians.

Today I want to appreciate my brother Jason Chipepo Musonda who said no to that bloody salary and choose to be on the right side of history for our nation. I think this is what we call true patriotism for mother Zambia.

Zambia should not forget the likes of Shapa Wakunguma, Boniface Lengwe and constable Mukela (M.S.R.I.P) who served the poor people of Sesheke from a state sponsored terrorist attack all coordinated by the state. These patriots were then retired in someone’s wicked interest, a situation that saw the young constable Mukela losing his life due to depression of losing a job at a tender age. The death of Mukela I still blame it on us ordinary Zambians besides masterminds in his death who happen to be the state key suspects Kanganja and Lungu. When these patriots who decides to stand with the country gets in trouble with dictators, we shun them. We don’t show solidarity as per requirement. If we had that spirit of solidarity, the young constable immediately he was fired someone out there was going to give him even a simple peace work to ensure that he doesn’t lose hope but we all failed Mukela till he said bye bye to Zambia. If we had the spirit of patriotism in us HH was not going to spend 127 days in Mukobeko yet murderers were roaming the streets beginning for expired condoms to poison the country.

May I also recognize all our gallant men and women in uniform who have been fired and retired in perceived national (PF) interest from various security departments by those who want to hold this nation at ransom. It is my hope that immediately there is a change of government these citizens should be given their dues with due respect for unlawful dismissal and have them go honourably because they are honourable has it not been for Mr Lungu and his dictatorial tendencies.

I also wish to remind all those officers currently serving that we know your daily struggles our dear brothers and sisters. It is our wish that one day you’ll work as professionals and serve your nation with diligent and dignity. We want to see you being given back your respect as law enforcers after August elections. Not only giving back your dignity but also ensuring that your working conditions are improved so that when someone tells you to do a wrong thing you will say no Sir, that’s unlawful against the people of Zambia or retire yourself just like officer Jason Chipepo Musonda did. Many of you are great people but you work under difficult circumstances that we know very well as Zambians. We know that even after being abused some of you get paid K3000 per month yet a thug or criminal is using millions of dollars as his pillow case. This is unacceptable.

This year let us unit and defeat injustice so that we build a better Zambia for all Zambians and not only for a few criminals, murderers, thugs and thieves. Let us not give up on our country Zambia which is in fear of the tin pot dictator.

May God bless you all our men and women in uniform who want to see a better mother Zambia.
