DPP PHIRI: “THE LAW DOES NOT FORGET” — ZAMBIANS ABROAD WARNED
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gilbert Phiri has warned Zambians living abroad that being outside the country does not make them immune from prosecution.
Mr Phiri said Zambians who allegedly commit offences while abroad can still face the law in Zambia, stressing that distance should not be used as a shield for irresponsible conduct.
His warning comes amid concerns over alleged inflammatory statements being made by some Zambians abroad against people back home.
“The law does not forget… one day will be a day of reckoning,” Mr Phiri said.
The remarks come as Government’s decision to cancel the passports of six Zambians over security concerns continues to attract debate.
