His Excellency Dr. Elias Munshya, High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia to Australia presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Hon. David Hurley (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

During the ceremony in Canberra, the Governor-General stated that Australia stands ready to strengthen its bilateral relationship with Zambia to improve the livelihood of its citizens.

The Governor-General stated that Australia looked forward to strengthening its economic diplomacy with Zambia.

For his part Dr. Munshya noted that the Zambian Government looked forward to growing its relations with Australia in various sectors.

The High Commissioner conveyed the most cordial greetings and best wishes to the Governor-General from Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia.

The presentation of the Letters of Credence was preceded by a private meeting. This is according to a press statement issued by
Mr. Charles Mucholo, First Secretary Press at the High Commission of Zambia in Australia.
