DR MBUYISENI NDLOZI BLASTS NIGERIAN AND GHANAIAN CRITICS, SAYS COUNTRIES LIKE ZIMBABWE, MOZAMBIQUE, ZAMBIA AND MALAWI UNDERSTAND SOUTH AFRICA’S CHALLENGES BETTER
Political analyst and former EFF spokesperson Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has sparked debate after criticizing what he described as attempts by some activists from Nigeria and Ghana to portray South Africa negatively over issues related to immigration, crime and economic opportunities.
Speaking during a recent discussion, Ndlozi argued that countries such as Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi are heavily affected by migration and economic challenges in the region, yet many citizens from those countries understand the pressures facing South Africa and do not respond in the same way as some critics elsewhere.
Ndlozi reportedly said the debate should focus on finding African solutions to African problems instead of creating divisions between countries. He argued that South Africa’s economic and social challenges cannot be discussed honestly without addressing issues such as unemployment, border management, crime and regional economic inequality.
The former EFF spokesperson further stated that disagreements between African nations should not undermine cooperation and development across the continent, adding that difficult conversations about migration and economic opportunities must be approached with honesty and mutual respect
His remarks have divided opinion online, with some supporting his views while others arguing that criticism of South Africa’s immigration policies should not be dismissed.
