ECZ CLARIFIES RESCHEDULE OF BALLOT PAPER’ ARRIVAL.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says the Charter flight which was scheduled to deliver ballot papers for the August 13th elections today will arrive in Zambia on Tuesday morning.
ECZ Commissioner Ndiyoi Mutiti says this follows a revision to the charter flight schedule which will now leave Dubai on Monday 27th July at 23hrs and is expected in Zambia on Tuesday 28th July.
She has further revealed that the charted flight has now been changed to a bigger plane which will carry the two consignments that where scheduled to arrive on Sunday and Monday and part of the ballot papers that where scheduled for the third flight.
Ms. Mutiti has also clarified that the containers are still as they were after the inspection and that only flight changes has been effected.
She has further dismissed claims from the opposition NRPUP of lack of transparency in the process as the commission has made all information in relation to the flights available to all stakeholders involved in the process which include a packaging checklist.
