Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty hosted Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh in Cairo on July 19, 2026.
Both nations reaffirmed that Red Sea security and governance belong solely to littoral states — rejecting any violations of international law or external meddling.
Egypt expressed full support for Eritrea’s vision of unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity among Red Sea nations.
The talks also strengthened bilateral cooperation in maritime transport, trade, ports, investment, infrastructure, mining, and fisheries.
