ELISHA MATAMBO SCOOPS THE LUFWANYAMA SEAT
Former Copperbelt Province minister and the current United Party for National Development (UPND) Copperbelt Province chairperson Elisha Matambo has been duly elected as Member of Parliament for Lufwanyama East constituency in Lufwanyama district after polling 11,169 votes against his closest rival Annie Munshya of the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) who polled 2,093

Beloved Citizens,
DULY ELECTED MP FOR LUFWANYAMA EAST CONSTITUENCY,WE DEDICATE THE VICTORY TO THE PEOPLE OF LUFWANYAMA AND THE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT MR HAKAINDE HICHILEMA
Today ,we have been dully declared as elected Member of Parliament for Lufwanyama East Constituency in Lufwanyama District on the Copperbelt after polling 11,169 votes ,NRPUP candidate Munshya Annie got 2,093 and SP Moses Chiyuka Walked away with paltry 483 votes .
We thank God , our Republican President Mr Hakainde Hichilema my wife Samantha ,family and friends for their unwavering support to me and the people of Lufwanyama .We dedicate this victory to the people of Lufwanyama , our Republican President Mr Hakainde Hichilema and our late Dad who always wanted me to work for the people of Lufwanyama and uplifting their living standard.
Our heartfelt gratitudes also goes to our grassroots – the branches polling station committee ,wards ,constituency, district and provincial teams, campaign managers Coordinators ,all the traditional leaders in Lufwanyama District and all the servants of God who prayed with us .We have achieved this victory together.
We stressed Lufwanyama East is one of the richest Constituencies in Zambia and produces best emeralds in Africa and beyond .Our Citizens needs to benefits from their natural resources that the areas is endowed with .
Further we outlined our priorities in the next five years and our top priority is to open Lufwanyama in terms of road infrastructure , build more clinics ,build more schools , sink more boreholes , build more bridges , teacher houses .We also assured our youths that they need to benefits from employment opportunities in the mines within the area. Additionally , we assured our small scare miners that will work hard to ensure that they have access to their resources and mine legally as guided by government under the Republican President Mr Hakainde Hichilema . We will also push to increase the number of beneficiaries for FISP so that no one is sharing and also ensure that church and women groups benefits from Constituency Development Fund . The president Mr Hakainde Hichelema emphasizes the Church and Government are partners and development.
We assured our people of Lufwanyama East that we are committed to deliver as we promised during our campaigns and address all the challenges one by one in consultation with the local people ,traditional leaders and everyone as we move forward to bring development for the beneficiations of our citizens in the area.
