Emmanuel Mwamba and Augustine Mukoka’s Organised UNGA Protest Must be Condemned

A group of handful Zambians in the US organised by fugitive Emmanuel Mwamba and disgraced former Post Newspaper employee Augustine Mukoka plan to picket outside the UN building in New York over the 13th August election results.
Both the United Nation Secretary-General António Guterres and US government have congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema’s re-election for the second term.
President Hichilema was declared the winner of the August 13, general elections.
Although the protest falls within their freedom of expression and assembly, the planned protest should be condemned by all well-meaning Zambians.
Mwamba is among the individuals who have made it their daily job to push hatred, tribal divisions to set Zambia on fire through lies and propaganda.
Mwamba seem to have abandoned any form of constructive criticism and has instead resorted to fanning discontent for personal political gain.
Therefore, it is not surprising that he is one of the architects pushing the agenda to stage demonstrations at the United Nations General Assembly.
This is a shameful attempt to export local political bitterness to an international stage and embarrass the country. He is using any available avenue to discredit his claimed country.
Mwamba and Augustine Mukoka’s lies that Zambians are living in fear is total fabrication and does not reflect the reality on the ground.
Zambians are going about their daily businesses freely, businesses are operating, churches are worshipping, and citizens are enjoying their democratic rights without intimidation.
There is no state of fear except in their own imaginations.
Zambia held a democratic and transparent free and fair election that has been backed by preliminary elections report by the EU.
What Mwamba and his colleagues want is to create a false narrative before the international community that Zambia is in crisis, when in fact not. The country remains peaceful, stable, and democratic under President Hakainde Hichilema.
The propaganda is for the purposes of attracting attention and sympathy through lies.
Zambians must see through this agenda and reject individuals like Emmanuel Mwamba and his allies who profit from dividing the nation.
Patriotism demands that Zambians, wherever they Amy be, defend the good image of the country and not allow bitter politicians to sell falsehoods at the UNGA.
Elections are long gone. It’s time for people to return to work and put politics aside.
Zambia cannot afford to remain in campaign mode forever. What Zambians need now is development, service delivery, and hard work, not endless politicking and bitterness.
Those who lost elections must accept the will of the people and allow the government to work. Constantly attacking everything, the government does will not build the nation.
Zambia is bigger than any individual. Politics will come and go. The next election is in 2031. For now, let all citizens work together to build Zambia together.
