Erdoğan: Mecca Pact Sends Important Message to the Muslim World
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has described the trilateral alliance between Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, known as the “Mecca Pact,” as an important message to the Muslim world that has created a new regional environment.
Erdoğan declined to provide further details about the agreement.
He also praised his government’s efforts to keep Türkiye away from regional threats, saying the Middle East is going through a particularly difficult period.
Meanwhile, Pakistan recently stated that it would not participate in attacks against the Houthis or interfere in Yemen’s internal affairs following the group’s reported advance toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
The developments come amid growing regional tensions and shifting security alliances in the Middle East.
