EVERY SOUP AT THE TABLE HAD TURKEY. I WAS THE ONLY ONE SERVED BEEF.

THAT WAS THE MOMENT I KNEW: I HAD ENTERED “ONE CHANCE”

“The moment I knew I had entered “one chance” was the day I visited Jude’s house in 2014, shortly after I was signed to his label, Northside Inc.

At that time, I was genuinely happy. My heart was full of hope, and I believed I was finally stepping into the bright future I had always dreamed of.

In my little mind, I kept telling myself:

“If Jude could help build P-Square into what they became, then surely, he can do the same for me.”

I had so much faith in him. Honestly, I saw another Don Jazzy in Jude. I believed I had found the person who would take my career to the next level.

Then came dinner with the family.

The atmosphere was beautiful. There was love in the air. Everyone was encouraging me, praising me and calling me the “next superstar.” I felt special. I felt like I had finally arrived.

Then the food came.

They served me egusi soup and pounded yam. I was even excited because swallow has always been my weakness. I remember thinking, “Celebrity lifestyle will never change me.” 😂

But then I noticed something.

Everyone at the table had a piece of TURKEY swimming in their soup.

Everyone…

Except me.

My own soup had BEEF.

I didn’t ask questions. I just quietly looked at my plate.

But something inside me whispered:

“Cynthia Hustle o.”

And perhaps that piece of beef was the first warning that; I don enter one chance.
