BREAKING: Ex-Trump Adviser Says Melania’s Absence Has Left Trump “More Unhinged”
Melania Trump has barely been seen this year, and even Trump’s former inner circle is starting to ask why.
Journalist Joanna Coles pointed out on The Daily Beast Podcast that Melania has only made public appearances 38 days this year, a striking contrast to past first ladies. Michelle Obama kept a staff of two and a half dozen people and did between 150 and 200 events a year. Laura Bush and Jill Biden each averaged at least 120 events annually. Melania currently has a staff of five.
Anthony Scaramucci, who advised Trump during his first term, said he believes the distance between the two has grown, adding that he suspects they haven’t lived together for some time. He said Melania seems focused on not embarrassing her husband publicly while quietly keeping her distance from the day to day of the role.
Scaramucci went further, suggesting her absence has had a real effect on Trump himself. He said that when Melania was more present, she used to tell him to tone things down, and he’d actually listen. According to Scaramucci, there are very few people left who can say that about Trump.
It’s a rare admission from someone who once worked alongside him, one that raises real questions about who, if anyone, is left to keep him in check.
