FUNERAL WREATHS LEFT FOR LIVING DEFENSE EXECUTIVES IN TWO NATO COUNTRIES
Funeral wreaths and photographs of living defense-industry executives marked with black mourning ribbons appeared almost simultaneously outside companies in Lithuania and the Czech Republic.
In Vilnius, the wreaths were placed outside RSI Europe, which manufactures unmanned systems and supplies Ukraine with FPV drones and remote-detonation technology. Alongside them was a photograph of CEO Tomas Milašauskas bearing a black ribbon.
“We are not afraid,” Milašauskas responded. “We will keep working.”
A nearly identical display appeared outside Czech defense group CSG, accompanied by a photograph of executive David Chour. CSG produces ammunition and military equipment and has become an important part of Europe’s expanding defense industry.
Lithuanian police detained one suspect and opened a pretrial investigation. Media reports identify the detainee as a Ukrainian citizen who may have been paid by a Belarusian intermediary to deliver the wreaths. Investigators are examining whether the incidents in both countries were coordinated.
Russian involvement has not been proven. Lithuanian authorities are nevertheless treating the intimidation as a possible provocation connected to Russian intelligence services.
