Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba clearly ordered all security services to stay completely out of the Tooro Kingdom succession dispute. He said it’s a cultural matter, and if they need guidance, they should go only to President Museveni as Commander-in-Chief.
Now, right after the Babiito clan named Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma the new king of Tooro, succeeding the late Omukama Oyo. Princesses Komuntale and Bagaaya rejected him.
Today the Queen Mother herself said the family is under house arrest at Karuziika Palace, Gen. Kayanja Muhanga pulled the royal guards and deployed troops around the compound, and the Musuuga was reportedly taken to an undisclosed location.
So Muhoozi’s “stay out of it” line is the official posture, but the security footprint on the ground is doing the opposite.
