GERMAN CHANCELLOR DELAYS CALL WITH TRUMP AFTER AFD PRAISE
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has postponed a scheduled phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, following Trump’s public praise for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) after its strong performance in the Saxony-Anhalt state election.
Trump also criticized Germany’s immigration policies, adding to political tensions between Washington and Berlin.
The postponement comes as relations between the Trump administration and the German government face renewed friction over domestic politics, migration and the rise of the AfD.
