HAITIAN POLICE KILL GANG LEADER GALAXIE AND ABOUT 20 OF HIS MEN IN CABARET-ARCAHAIE OPERATION
Haitian National Police and local forces struck hard Thursday afternoon in Bési, between Cabaret and Arcahaie, killing gang leader “Galaxie” of the Bercy/Bési area along with roughly 20 of his armed followers.
Dominican communicator Noelia Hazim reported the action based on Haitian media accounts. She noted the deaths of the Bercy band leader and his pandilleros during the police operation in the Cabaret corridor.
Haitian outlets confirmed the details. Law enforcement, working with the Arcahaie Brigade, hit the locality of Bési on October 29. Several terrorists were killed, including the Bési gang chief known as Galaxie. Local residents and members of the Arcahaie Brigade backed the operation.
Radio Télé Patriarche reported that coordinated forces eliminated multiple presumed armed group members, among them the Bési gang leader Galaxie. The action targeted a zone long plagued by criminal control.
Video circulating with the reports shows officers in tactical gear and white Nissan Patrol vehicles securing a residential site of makeshift structures. Personnel move around the vehicles, handling individuals on the ground amid the aftermath.
This comes as gangs under coalitions like Viv Ansanm have massacred civilians, burned homes, and imposed illegal tolls across the Arcahaie-Cabaret stretch. Earlier operations in the same area destroyed criminal checkpoints and seized rifles, yet the groups kept expanding until direct local and police pressure delivered results.
The reported neutralization of Galaxie and his men marks a concrete blow against the armed groups that have displaced tens of thousands and killed scores of ordinary Haitians in recent months. Authorities continue operations to reclaim territory from the gangs.
