HAKAINDE MUST PICK ONLY ONE SECTOR, IMPROVE IT & LEAVE A LASTING LEGACY, LIKE ALL HIS SIX PREDECESSORS.

10 – November, 2024 Sunday

I feel compelled to give free advise and address the current  Republican President, Dr. Hakainde Hichilema. It is crucial that I remind him of the importance of leaving a lasting legacy during his time in office. History has shown us that all six former presidents of Zambia did something significant to be remembered for before leaving office .

The First Republican President the late Dr. Kenneth Kaunda (Mhsrip) fought tirelessly against colonial rule, advocated for humanism, united the 73 tribes under one zambia one nation and brought independence to Zambia.
The late second Republican President Dr. Frederick Titus Chiluba (Mhsrip) ushered in multiparty democracy, paving way for a more inclusive political system.  Property ownership was another legacy under MMD.The late third Republican President Dr. Levy Mwanawasa SC (Mhsrip) waged a war against corruption and listened to the voices of the opposition. Advocated for debt cancellation thereby foreseeing the kwacha gaining against the dollar.

The late fourth Repubican Presidentla Dr. Rupiah Banda (Mhsrip) improved the living standards of the people and introduced mobile hospitals to reach those in remote areas. The late Fifth Republican President Dr. Michael Sata initiated the Link Zambia 8000 project, greatly improving the country’s infrastructure.

I am personally proud to say that President Sata mentored and groomed Citizens First Party president Mr. Harry Kalaba,  a man with a pro-poor agenda and a clear vision for Zambia’s future.
The only standing former president and sixth Republican President Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu excelled in infrastructure Development.

However, as we look at President Hichilema’s tenure thus far, we see a lack of tangible achievements. His promise of free education has fallen short with a lot of below average scores, as quality education requires proper funding, improved teacher-student ratios, and infrastructure development. The famous  Constituency Development  Fund ( CDF)  he has kept increasing, it is more progressive on paper than on the ground.

I urge President Hichilema to focus on one sector where he can make a significant impact and leave a legacy for himself. Whether it be healthcare, education, infrastructure, or another area, it is crucial that he takes decisive action before the people of Zambia kick him out in 2026 because they have already lost faith in his leadership. He should as well learn from the political climate in Botswana, where leaders are held accountable for their actions.

President Hichilema, I implore you to listen to our advice and make a meaningful difference during your time in office. The clock is ticking, and the 2026 general election is fast approaching. It is clear that the Zambian people expect results.

Nalanda ine Napa, epompelele Mukwai, Uuli namatwi omfwe🤷🏾‍♂️😔

I remain,

MUNTHALI FAITH

NATIONAL CHAIRLADY; CITIZENS FIRST/UNITED KWACHA ALLIANCE (UKA)
