He who made different choice from yours, not your enemy — Hichilema
PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has urged supporters to desist from persecuting people perceived to hold different political views from theirs.
And President Hichilema says the fact that someone made a different decision from others does not make them an enemy.
Addressing the nation yesterday, President Hichilema said people who made a different choice in the election should not be treated as enemies, but as fellow citizens.
“He or she who did not make the decision you made in the election is not your enemy. They are your brother. They are your sister. They are your uncle, auntie, they’re your neighbour,” President Hichilema said.
He said, more importantly, such people are fellow citizens, urging Zambians to recognise the importance of preserving unity after the elections.
President Hichilema further called on citizens to protect the peace and uphold law and order, regardless of their political choices.
