HH CONCLUDES NORTHERN PROVINCE TOUR WITH MAJOR PROMISES FOR KASAMA
KASAMA— President Hakainde Hichilema has concluded his productive two-day working visit to Northern Province, leaving residents with major commitments aimed at transforming the region’s healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
In a landmark announcement, President Hichilema promised the construction of a state-of-the-art hospital in the Kasama district.
For local residents, this fulfills a long-standing demand.
The current Kasama General Hospital is an aging facility that has struggled to meet the growing healthcare demands of the population.
The new facility is set to drastically improve specialized care and medical access in the region.
Addressing civil service gaps, the President directed the immediate employment of volunteer health workers and teachers who have dedicated their time to serving the community without formal contracts.
This move is expected to both reward local volunteers and significantly improve the teacher-to-pupil and doctor-to-patient ratios in the province.
On local development, President Hichilema pledged that the government will systematically rehabilitate all township and feeder roads within Kasama.
