HH HAILS VOTERS AFTER HISTORIC 2026 ELECTION VICTORY
….President-elect promises inclusive development and unity across all 116 districts after defeating NRPUP’s Brian Mundubile at the polls

By DAVID KANDUZA
PRESIDENT-ELECT Hakainde Hichilema has expressed deep gratitude to the people of Zambia following his victory in the 2026 general elections, where he was officially declared the winner by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).

Mr Hichilema secured his mandate after defeating his closest rival, Brian Mundubile, the leader of the NRPUP.

“We are truly humbled by the trust you have placed in our hands, to hold our nation’s highest office and to be your servant, once more,” Mr Hichilema stated in a message shared on his official Facebook page.

The President-elect praised the peaceful conduct of the citizenry, noting that the election demonstrated Zambia’s strong democratic credentials to the international community.

He described Zambia as a nation of peace, law and order that resolves its political differences strictly through the ballot box.

Reflecting on his nationwide campaign tour, Mr Hichilema noted that his visits to all 116 districts—spanning cities, townships, villages and farms—provided him with first-hand insight into the challenges facing Zambians.

He pledged to collaborate closely with citizens to address these issues.

Addressing voters who supported his opponents, the President-elect offered reassurances of an inclusive governance approach

He affirmed that his administration would continue working for all citizens to ensure that every Zambian benefits from national development.

“As we return to work as your servant, we carry with us the memories of the children we met throughout the campaign, and we commit to building a better Zambia for all of you to inherit,” he added.

Mr Hichilema concluded by urging the nation to unite and focus on economic progress, emphasizing the national motto of ‘One Zambia, One Nation, One People’ as the country transitions from a hard-fought campaign to a period of development.

  1. Amen and Amen. Congrats Mr. President. You truly deserve the second term. My only hope is that you will be ruthless with the PF thugs who were hell bent to burn the country to ashes if they lost. No olive branch anymore. Start with Mundubile, Makebi, Binwell Mpundu, Tasila Lungu, the mother Esther, Lilian Mutambo, JJ Banda, Emmanuel Mwamba etc etc and all those kids on social media who really were so disrespectful to your leadership. They need to be all brought to book. Noti atishani shani. Be ruthless this time. We need to learn to be accountable for our actions.

  2. Now that we have managed to keep away our $6.7bn foreign exchange reserves from the thieves and looters ba pompwe, is to increase the foreign reserves to $11.9bn by the end of 2028. Luapula, North west, Central and Western provinces have the capacity to do that. We want capital projects across the country. Our youths must be a priority in this regard.

  3. Amakays,
Your corrupt AKA PF candidate got whipped by the voters of Zambia. Now you are crying…stop being a CHIKALA

    • @Buckteeth lungu (still in a fridge), You just insulted me for nothing. We don’t use vulgar language on a public platform like this one. You were brought up badly and I will not insult you though I am capable. If you follow my postings very well you will realise that I engage in meaningful and intellectual discourse. I have taken a stand against wrong doings by the PF government and advocated for justice to prevail. I implore you to grow up and desist from reckless postings like this one.

  4. Ba Indigo Tyrol mwashibukeni. Umutengo waka BP monitor naupona (thanks to Bally!) in case you need one.
You should have listened when we told you that HH is a big machine. Now you are in mwamoneni!

  5. No mercy this time around for these criminals. If they think they are clever and run away escaping the law, social justice will prevail. We shall marry their wives and daughters behind and take food care of them.

  6. Congratulations Mr. President for a well deserved victory. Please donot attempt a third term. It will only irredeemably soil your good name.

You are on course to becoming the best President Zambia has ever had so far. Be firm but just. Establish the rule of law and donot pander to the whims of the Jerabos. Go after the thieves in the PF government and in your last government. Even those with sticky fingers in the government you will form.

We are tired of thieves flaunting their ill gotten wealth and thinking they have gotten away.
