HH, UPND WILL FALL IN AUGUST, MUHABI PREDICTS
TONSE-PF Pamodzi Alliance member Muhabi Lungu says President Hakainde Hichilema and the United Party for National Development (UPND) will fall next month.
Speaking when he featured on Millennium TV on Tuesday, Lungu tipped opposition National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) presidential candidate Brian Mundubile to be ready to take over power after the August 13 presidential election.
He said Hichilema would lose next month’s election because of the rising cost of living and the continued desperate attempt to divide Zambians along tribal lines.
“Poverty will decide the vote. The divisive campaigns Mr Hichilema has embarked on will decide the future of the country. Mundubile will win given the poverty in Zambia. President HH will fall,” he said.
Lungu said the soaring prices of fuel and food such as mealie meal and cooking oil would cost Hichilema the August 13 general elections.
The last five years under the United Party for National Development (UPND), Zambians had been living in a vacuum without any hope for a better life.
“High unemployment levels, rise in crime, lack of opportunities for business and jobs among youths, tribalism and nepotism, increased levels of mistrust between the people and government and poor public delivery are proof that households are struggling,” he said.
Lungu contrasted the two leaders, calling Mundubile humble while labelling Hichilema arrogant, stubborn and incorrigible.
“Brian admits he doesn’t know everything. The President thinks he knows everything and wants to be worshiped. That is why ministers fear him,” he said.
Lungu dismissed government’s claims that strong foreign reserves meant prosperity and better lives for the people of Zambia.
“There’s no link. Nigeria and Angola have huge reserves, but citizens suffer. People cannot eat reserves. Prices must come down,” Lungu said.
He accused the UPND of tribalism and revenge politics and praised Mundubile’s record as former chief whip and a chartered accountant.
“We scanned everyone. Brian is sober, experienced and grounded. Brian listens and is willing to learn. Brian has shown humility while Hichilema has continued on his destructive path of tribal politics, fake promises, vengeance and cruelty in nature,” he said.
Lungu urged voters to turn out in large numbers on August 13 to remove Hichilema and the UPND from government.

The good thing about social media is that it keeps a record of people’s utterances. It documents so that posterity or the future can reveal what truly lies in someone’s statements and their heart. What will this person say if the outcome is different from the documented expectation here ? The electorate can humble you into silence.
Yes, like everyone else, Muhabi Lungu is entitled to an opinion. There is no denying that. But Zambians expect better than this kind of drama from politicians. A seasoned politician will respect the collective decision of the electorate and not pump personal or emotional content into the expected outcome of an election. The outcome of a national election is not measured or gauged by any one single person’s feelings, but by the performance (or lack thereof) of those in power.
A mature person will refuse to offer an opinion because they recognise a conflict of interests, a bias, that will skew or distort their opinion away from the objective truth.
Was Muhabi Lungu out of his mind? Let him continue dreaming.
Muhabi Lungu has lost that sharp shot of analysing political issues. It is clear that what HH is doing is just to keep at bay the opposition from the corridors of power. What is true is HH will win the 2026 presidential election. Perhaps what is important now to engage in discussing is by how much he will win this presidential vote. Well like someone said everyone has the right and is entitled to his opinion. What I see is, after the elections there will be rampart and wild accusations of failure within the Tonse alliance. Mundubile is likely to have the largest share of that blame.

It’s ironic that despite being very promising during his UNZA politics, Muhabi Lungu has turned 180 degrees to a blind man who always misses the side where the bread slice is buttered.
He tribally supported Kaunda when even day one children were with Chiluba’s winning team. He then supported UNIP when MMD thrived under Levy and Rupiah.
As if that was not enough, when every eye was looking at Sata, he was bedding Rupiah who was deeply unpopular. During his brother Lungu’s tenure, he was asleep until he woke up when HH had won only to support PF thieves.
As if the first term was not agonizing enough, here he is dreaming about thieves coming to power. One would deduce that he is spiritually destined never to join a winning team in his whole life. Sad….
