Houthis Issue Stark Warning to Saudi Arabia, Accusing Kingdom of Aligning With the United States
Yemen’s Houthi movement has issued one of its strongest public warnings yet toward Saudi Arabia, with the group’s military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, accusing the kingdom of betraying the Islamic world by siding with the United States.
In a strongly worded statement, Saree claimed that Saudi Arabia had chosen to align itself with Washington rather than support regional causes, declaring that the era of prosperity and stability for the kingdom had “come to an end.” His remarks signaled a significant escalation in rhetoric and suggested that the Houthis view Saudi Arabia as an increasingly direct adversary.
The statement has heightened concerns over the security of Saudi Arabia’s critical infrastructure and broader regional stability. Analysts note that the comments could indicate an increased risk of future Houthi attacks against Saudi targets if tensions continue to rise and the kingdom maintains its current strategic alignment with Western allies.
