I CAN’T SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS HIDING A DEAD BODY, SAYS GREYFORD MONDE
Former Patriotic Front presidential aspiring candidate Greyford Monde says he can’t support individuals who are only good at hiding a dead body.
Speaking when he defected to the United Party for National Development in Itezhi-Tezhi, Mr. Monde said the decision to leave the group of Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu became easy.
He said he had been asking what benefit there would be for Zambians in hiding the body of Edgar Lungu, only to use it as a campaign tool.
Mr. Monde said that despite advising Makebi Zulu and Brian Mundubile to bury the body of the late President, they told him they wanted to use it for political gain.
“I have been troubled since the time I had a conversation with my colleagues over the late President’s body in South Africa. I advised them that since the Government of the Republic of Zambia was not interested in the burial anymore, they should bury the body and allow the man to rest. The response I got shocked me. They said they would only bury the body when it gives them votes.
“Now, where have you ever seen a dead body giving votes? Little did I know they meant they wanted to use the body to win sympathy from Zambians. So, how will the body reduce fuel prices, for example? This shows that those people are not serious.”
Mr. Monde also said he was told point-blank that because he is Lozi, he could not be close to the leadership of the Toonse Pamodzi Alliance.
“I was told that since I’m Lozi, I can’t be close to the leadership of the same grouping. Just look at the President and the Vice President. Also look at the National Management Committee members. Those are not good people,” he said.
This is what Given Lubinda should have known a long time ago. Mumbi Phiri had made it very clear, only people from Eastern and Northern block can lead in PF or whatever the new name.
