Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has opened up about how she would handle attraction to another person while already committed to a relationship.
The Afrobeats star shared her perspective during an episode of her Ask Ayra Starr show, where she responded to a woman seeking relationship advice.
The woman’s question focused on a situation that can be complicated for people in relationships: what should someone do if they suddenly find another person more attractive than their current partner?
Ayra Starr gave a straightforward response, saying she would rather end her relationship than remain with her partner while pursuing someone else.
“If I’m in a serious relationship with a guy and then I find another guy more attractive, I would break up with him instead of dating both of them at the same time,” she said.
The singer explained that she would choose honesty rather than maintain two romantic relationships at once.
“I don’t think you can love two people,” she added, advising people who find themselves in such situations to step away from relationships temporarily and take time to understand what they truly want.
Beyond romantic relationships, Ayra Starr also encouraged people to maintain their friendships after finding a partner.
She noted that entering a relationship should not mean cutting off friends, stressing the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between romantic commitments and friendships.
