SILENCE IS GOLDEN, NOT EVERY PAIN NEEDS A PUBLIC VOICE

By Chanoda Ngwira F

Many people have been asking me why i am not on social media regards what is at hand.. WELL, sometimes silence is golden, especially at a time when millions of messages and opinions are flying across Zambia following the outcome of the just ended elections.

Everyone has a view, an emotion or an explanation, but not every thought needs to be spoken. At times taking a stance of prayer is the only way to go by.. I talk then what? Have I betrayed Hon Mundubile? Not at all, had i chance to meet him after elections, especially now, I would speak to him as an elder brother and suggest my honest  opinion. Unfortunately he is not accessible to me.

For my part, I have chosen to grieve within myself rather than allow emotions to provoke or worsen an already sensitive situation. Silence is not weakness, sometimes it is wisdom, restraint and respect for the bigger picture. Have i taken steps, yes i have in my little way in the background to see how best Zambia and Zambians can heal..

Above all, my desire and prayer remain simple; peace, forgiveness and reconciliation. Whatever has happened, Zambia and our people are bigger than any election, disappointment or political difference.

God help us!
