I NEVER DECLARED MYSELF WINNER OF THE ELECTIONS, SAYS MUNDUBILE.
NRPUP President Brian Mundubile says he never declared himself the winner of the 2026 General Elections.
Mr. Mundubile says all he stated publicly was that results collected by his team through its Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) and G20 system had placed him ahead of incumbent President Hakainde Hichilema.
And Mr. Mundubile has also distanced himself from people who allegedly took to the streets and damaged UPND campaign posters and other property, saying he does not know them.
Speaking to international media, Mr. Mundubile further alleged that foreign soldiers went to his residence, broke through the gate and opened fire while his family and colleagues were inside.
He claimed that the people who entered his residence were not speaking any of Zambia’s commonly known languages, leading him and his colleagues to suspect that they were foreigners.
Mr. Mundubile also rejected government claims, attributed to Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa, that his colleagues were armed.
“First and foremost, I never declared myself as winner of these General Elections. I just said I had results using our PVT and G20s that I was ahead of Hichilema. UPND in opposition also did the same,” he said.
“At my house yesterday, the army people came to our residence and fired gunshots. At my house was just my children, my wife and a few colleagues when they came in, broke our gate and started firing gunshots. I saw my colleague being shot at two times. The army that came were not speaking any of the known languages in Zambia; we suspect they are foreign.”
However, the interviewer did not press Mr. Mundubile on why the alleged soldiers would have opened fire if, as he maintains, there was no threat or armed resistance at the residence.

This man takes us for fools.
If you are ahead of Hichilema, that in itself is a declaration of victory.
A lawyer who doesn’t understand culpability and doesn’t acknowledge his own responsibility after opening his mouth wants to lead a nation.
So if Mundubile wins, he is simple telling us that he will be double tongued and therefore not worthy of anyone’s trust.
There is just something about this man I am failing to understand when I focus on his face. Just something strange. He looks very dangerous to me. Just my thoughts.

Too late my brother. Unfortunately the lesson was not taught early enough to be careful about what to say in public. As a public figure and leader of the biggest political party your every word carries weight and hence must be intelligently weighed before speaking.
Distancing your self from the reckless behavior of your followers won’t help you.
Infact you should have immediately condemned that thuggery illegal behavior and publicly advised your followers not to take to the streets. But as usual I did not hear a word from you , your Vice nor close leaders. This means you approved of this illegal behavior. I may be corrected and will rescind my observation incase an official statement was given to condemn the mischief.

The statements and conduct attributed to certain opposition figures during the electoral process raise serious concerns about political responsibility, respect for the rule of law, and the preservation of peace.
If political leaders publicly claim victory while votes are still being counted, circulate unverified allegations of abductions or shootings, or suggest that their supporters will reject an election result and resort to confrontation, such conduct can create unnecessary tension and potentially incite political violence and public disorder.
The reported statement that an election defeat would not be accepted and that supporters would be prepared to “die fighting” is particularly concerning. Political disagreements and disputed election results must be resolved through lawful constitutional and electoral mechanisms—not through threats, intimidation or violence.
Equally troubling are allegations of false reports concerning abductions and shootings. During an election, misinformation of this nature can generate fear, provoke retaliation and undermine public confidence in the electoral process. If such information was knowingly fabricated or deliberately disseminated to provoke disorder, the appropriate authorities should investigate and take whatever action the law permits.
The same principle applies to reports of political cadres allegedly being found in possession of dangerous weapons. Those allegations should be investigated objectively, and responsibility should be established on the basis of evidence. No individual or political leader should be condemned merely because of political association, but neither should political influence place anyone above the law.
Zambia’s democracy can only remain stable when political leaders, regardless of party affiliation, respect the electoral process, accept lawful outcomes, and challenge disputed results through established legal channels.
Political competition is legitimate. Violence, intimidation and deliberate misinformation are not.
The responsibility of every political leader is therefore to calm their supporters, respect the rule of law, and protect the peace of the nation rather than inflame political tensions
Mundubile knows what is coming his way. His declaration of victory was part of their evil scheme (Plan B or is it C) to create confusion in the country. He and his accomplices must be swiftly brought to book without delay as they may soon start scampering into other countries to join their fellow criminals Jay Jay and Emmanuel Mwamba. Why is that dull lawyer Jonas Zimba trying to flee the country? There is more to this than meets the eye.
Mundubile you need a complete rest after the final announcement of the results. I would also suggest you concede defeat immediately and send unconditional congratulation message to the President elect Dr. Hakainde Sammy Hichilema. Coming to terms with your loss will certainly take some time as you will have to start paying off your congolese musicians for the services rendered. In the meantime we will start dancing to your campaign music.
