“I WILL KEEP SPEAKING FOR NORTH-WESTERN UNTIL I DIE” – SAMAKAYI

Former Mwinilunga lawmaker Samakayi says he will continue advocating for North-Western Province until his death, citing years of unfulfilled government promises and stalled development.

Speaking during a press briefing in Solwezi, Mr. Samakayi said residents of the province have been patient, loyal, and productive to the nation, but their patience has not translated into tangible development.

“The people of North-Western Province are disappointed with what has happened in the past 20 years. We host 3 big mines which are contributing immensely to the treasury of this country, but there is little to show, if any, in our Province,” he said.

He added that successive governments have failed to appreciate the province’s contribution, leaving youths and other residents affected by delayed projects and Development.

“We have only received nothing but promises of a university teaching hospital, Mutanda-Kasempa-Kaoma road, Solwezi-Kipushi road. These projects had their groundbreakings done but there has been no implementation,” Mr. Samakayi said.

The former MP said North-Western Province deserves to benefit directly from the investments currently operating within the region. If we talk about Kasenseli and Kikonge our youths are not benefiting as such .

“I will keep talking for North-Western Province until I die. And am receiving calls that am bittter, no am not a bitter person. I have not joined any Political Party, am  yet to make a decision.”he declared.

  1. What really do you want?? After boated out you have germinated courage of talking where were are you when that area was not developed?? So even that province which give power they should demand that??

  2. To be quite honest, Samakayi is talking in this manner out of being left out from adoption as MP. Firstly, he has no ex- cathedra authority as spokesman for North-Western Province. All people of the province will cast votes for an MP of their choice and indeed President. And development has to follow distribution of resources not according to what the province produces but according to allocation of resources for each province. So, what is it that UPND did or did not do in terms of allocation of resources to each province which Samakayi can point to as, say discrimination of North-Western Province?

  3. The genesis of your falling from grace with UPND and HH was on your refusal to vote for Bill 7. Hence before you start condemning other people, tell us why you refused to vote for Bill 7? You betrayed your party, so you should just shut up. For example, Is it not shameful for the First Lady to vote for the opposition candidate leaving her husband? You refused to support the party which saw you to parliament, that’s unacceptable. That’s why UPND refused to adopt you this time around, you became of no use to them. If it were not some opposition MPs, UPND could have lost Bill 7 and yet it had the adequate numbers to vote and win it. So be it known to you that you started and brought the problem yourself and not HH or UPND. Even when you claim to be speaking for the people of Northwestern Province, what really are you going to be speaking for them? Are you even their spokesperson? Northwestern as a Province is underdeveloped because for five years, people like you did nothing to develop it. You were receiving CDF, what did you do for Mwinilunga?

  4. Why can’t you just join Mundubile? You are saying that you have not yet decided to join other parties. Chimbwi afwile intagalilo.

Mundubile won’t win the Presidency if that is what you want waiting for. Ukaloba ilyauma.
