IF HATRED TOWARDS HICHILEMA CONTINUES, WE MAY MAKE HIM LIFE PRESIDENT SAYS MUSAMBA.
Long serving United Party for National Development (UPND) supporter Barbrah Musamba Chama has warned that continued hatred towards President Hakainde Hichilema could trigger calls for constitutional changes to make him a life president.
Ms. Chama says the level of hostility directed at President Hichilema is “despicable and unacceptable,” arguing that some people appear to hate the President without any apparent reason.
She says if the situation continues, Zambians may be forced to consider changing the Constitution to make President Hichilema a life president.
“With the hatred you have for Hakainde Hichilema, we may consider changing the Constitution to make him the life President,” she stated.
Her remarks are likely to spark debate, particularly given Zambia’s constitutional provisions on presidential terms and democratic succession.

I doubt that the Presidemt would be so foolish as to alter the constitution to allow him go for a third term later on life presidency.
Zambia has many capable people to take over from him whi can do an excellent job.
However, you are free to make him YOUR life president.
The Constitution of Zambia is very categorical on the terms. It’s two terms. He will be the President until 2031. Forget about life President.
Every Political Party has its own Imbeciles and diarrhoea Mouths.
There are so many capable leaders in UPND. Our Mutale Nalumango can go for five years after 2031, there after Levy Ngoma or Elvis Nkandu can take up the leadership of UPND. Let’s not think of such things like president for life. We say NO.
One would think this is an impromptu Comment from a ” confused” UPND Member. There is serious talk in UPND Whattsap groups about changing the Constitution for Hakainde to run for another term in 2031. At least this Lady has gone public. And immediately after inauguration the noise will gather traction.

Yes… the constitution of is very clear on presidential terms. But the same document did NOT come up by itself. It is people driven. So, whatever the majority agree, it will abide by that, period.
