Former Kabushi Member of Parliament Hon. Bowman Chilosha Lusambo says he is more popular than Vice President W.K Mutale Nalumango.
Hon Lusambo, who is also former Lusaka Province Minister, said he is a household name in the country and that people know him for the good he has been doing in the country.
He claimed that Zambians know him by face and by heart while they know the Vice President only by motorcade.
The Bulldozer said this when he featured on Muvi TV yesterday.
“I am more popular than the Vice President of the Republic of Zambia. And I am not joking about that, I am more popular than the Vice President. My name is a household name in this country,” he said.
“When we go to Eastern Province without escort, me and the Vice President, people of Eastern Province will know me better than the Vice President because we have been with people, we have interacted with people. They know Bowman by face and they know Bowman by heart. They know the Vice President by motorcade.”
And Hon Lusambo tipped that he could contest in any Constituency in the country and win an election because of his popularity.
“I am very happy because I am not a constituency politician. I am a national politician. Because today, if I decide to stand in Munali, I will win. Whether Mposha is in government, he can’t manage. If I decide to go to Mpongwe, I will win. If I decide today to go to Solwezi central, I will go and win,” he said.
“What I am telling you, these are facts. When you go to Solwezi, the name of Bowman Lusambo is all over in that province. When you come to Lusaka, I have been in Munali Constiituency for quite some time. I know Munali constituency more than Mposha. I stay in Munali Constituency, Mposha is in Chongwe Constituency. So I am actually the right person to preside over the affairs of the people of Munali because they visit me and I visit them. I know their challenges and they know me.”
The former lawmaker trashed the election of the current Kabushi MP whose election up to date is still being considered questionable by some sections of society.
Out of the over 49,000 registered voters, the Lawmaker only received about 6,000 votes.
The electorates did this in protest as they made it clear that they wanted the Bulldozer on the ballot paper.
However, Hon Lusambo disclosed that the current area MP cannot even go to the market in his own constituency because he has no message for the people.
“People might say no he was voted for, there was a by election. But if you look at that by election, you can definitely consider it as flawed because the winner of that election had 14% from 100%. Can you surely say he is carrying the legitimacy of the Kabushi people? He can preside of the issues of Kabushi constituency fairly? The answer is no… he cannot even show his face in the market because there is nothing he can tell the people,” he said.
“I am a very proud member of the community for the Kabushi Constituency. I have never lost an election in Kabushi constituency, never. I have won twice, elections in Kabushi Constituency with a big margin. 2016 I had eight councilors, 2021 I had eight councilors, and as we speak, all the eight councilors in Kabushi are PF. I am very proud that the structures for PF in Kabushi constituency are solid.”
