IMBOELA QUESTIONS KWACHA APPRECIATION AHEAD OF ELECTIONS
National Democratic Congress (NDC) President, Saboi Imboela, has questioned the actuality of recent Kwacha appreciation against other major convertible currencies.
In an interview with Byta FM News, Imboela said government may be faking the gains to present a positive economic outlook heading towards the August 2026 General Elections.
She stated that government has failed to clearly articulate what is causing the Kwacha’s rise while the reality on the ground shows primary commodities are still priced expensively.
Imboela urged citizens not to be hoodwinked by gimmicks and artificial indicators of economic improvement for political mileage.
In response, United Party for National Development Choma Central Constituency Information and Publicity Secretary, Honest Mweemba, said the current appreciation of the Kwacha is driven by different factors.
He highlighted some of them as massive manufacturing of goods as well as a reduction in imports of goods and services in the country.

These so called opposition leaders have been sleeping from the time PF lost elections in 2021.They have been busy in the media and social media with propaganda and were not paying attention to the numerous investments that were taking place. Now that the investments have now started to yield the intended results, they have started waking up with their usual propaganda. They can’t believe what’s happening and think the New Dawn Government is playing games the way they used do when they were in government. It’s time to wake up go and do something more productive (farming). The international commodity market prices are very good.
She can’t understand what she is talking herself.in shot you are not happy to see kwacha appreciating you wanted the kwacha to remain the same so that you keep on insulting the government wanyala no space to denouncing the government.
This is what happens when people go to school to get a certificate and not an education.
They cannot even frame their questions correctly. Saboi, the question is; the exchange sustainable?
When policies were being framed where were you? Making noise, instead of asking the right questions.
Last week Musokotwane and Dingani Banda held a town hall meeting where members of the public had all these questions answered.
Where were or your representitive? You like to make noise instead of being proactive.
You or your members could have askes this question there; here you have just come to “seek attention” and you call that leadership?
Masters iyo niya fake….lets go to school to learn to learn. Not to be a status symbol.
Mulomo, that is as good as asking that why did our neighbor chase his wife after a single lady moved in the neighborhood, have you heard of the word coincidence?
There is five things that happen every five years so you must be used to it by now instead of questioning it.
1. Dollar comes down
2. Fuel price reduces
3. Zesco reduces
4. Mealie meal reduces
5. Mulungushi textiles reopens.
Saboi explain the appreciation of you becoming so fat.
