Immigration picks Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance SG Mukandila
IMMIGRATION officers have picked up Tonse Pamodzi Alliance secretary general Celestin Mukandila from his home in Mapepe, Chilanga, Lusaka, over his immigration status.
Mukandila, 36, was apprehended today around his residence as the Department of Immigration moved in to investigate a report concerning his status in the country.
The Department has not, however, disclosed what specifically prompted the investigation or whether Mukandila is suspected of committing any offence.
Immigration chief public relations officer Namati Nshinka confirmed that Mukandila is now in the custody of the Department as investigations continue.
“The Department is investigating a report relating to Mr. Celestin Mukandila’s immigration status,” Nshinka said.
Nshinka said the Department would provide an update once there is further information regarding the matter.
