Influencer Angela Rose Visits Cheesecake Factory and Explains Why Obama’s Joke Missed the Point

Social media influencer Angela Rose walked into a Cheesecake Factory after Barack Obama compared President Trump’s White House renovations to the chain, and she used the visit to highlight what she sees as the real issue behind the mockery.

“We are here at the Cheesecake Factory. Now, I have a question for Obama. Maybe the reason why you don’t like the style of the Cheesecake Factory is because there is a lot of glass that is not broken nor boarded up. Also at the front they have glass, an open window that brings in lots of lighting, and outdoor seating where people can sit on chairs that are not being used as projectiles or as shields.”

Rose continued by focusing on the unbroken windows that allow the business to function normally. “Look at all of this glass that is here at the Cheesecake Factory that remains unbroken. I think that’s the reason why Obama doesn’t like the Cheesecake Factory, because they’re allowed to operate.

She described the outdoor seating as having a European feel while noting a clear contrast in conditions. “It’s very fascinating to note that outside of the Cheesecake Factory, obviously this is in the mall, but even in the front they have outdoor seating so it actually has a very European style. And you can see, unlike in Europe, the chairs are actually still intact and at the table and all of the glass of the Cheesecake Factory is not boarded up.”

A host shared the company’s background with her during the visit. The chain began in Calabasas, California, inspired by the owner’s mother and her classic cheesecake, then expanded into a large American operation offering dozens of cheesecakes and more than 200 menu items.

Rose framed the restaurant as a sign of everyday American enterprise. “Honestly, I think that this restaurant is a perfect representation of American capitalism and the ability to run an enterprise and be able to market freely and trust in the public that they’re not going to destroy your restaurant, loot it, try to rob or steal or intimidate you because you’re a capitalist business, right, or entrepreneurs or whatever.”

She concluded that the original criticism had the opposite effect of what was intended. “Honestly, I think it’s funny that Obama tried to discredit or make fun of and mock this establishment. This restaurant just shows how good things are going in America, and so it’s so funny to see how badly that backfired on Obama.”
