BREAKING: Iran Announces Temporary Suspension of Retaliatory Military Operations

Iran’s military has announced a temporary suspension of its retaliatory strikes against U.S. and allied military targets across the Middle East, signaling a possible pause in the recent escalation between Tehran and Washington.

In a statement released by military spokesperson Major General Mohammad Akraminiya, Iranian officials said the country’s military posture remains defensive and retaliatory, emphasizing that Iran’s operations have been conducted in response to attacks on its territory rather than as part of an offensive campaign.

According to the spokesperson, the decision to suspend retaliatory operations came after a second consecutive night passed without new U.S. airstrikes on Iranian territory. Tehran said the absence of further attacks prompted it to reduce the intensity of its military activities, describing the move as a temporary measure rather than a permanent de-escalation.

Despite the announcement, Iranian officials stressed that the country’s armed forces remain on high alert and are fully prepared to resume military action should the United States or its allies launch additional strikes against Iran.

The development could represent a limited easing of tensions following days of heightened military exchanges across the region. However, analysts caution that the situation remains highly volatile, with both sides maintaining significant military capabilities and the potential for renewed hostilities if conditions change.

No immediate response has been issued by the United States regarding Iran’s announcement. Regional observers will be closely watching whether the pause leads to broader diplomatic efforts or proves to be only a brief interruption in the ongoing confrontation.
