Iran Offers to Facilitate Saudi-Yemen Talks After Deadly Houthi Airport Strikes

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on October 11 to discuss escalating regional tensions following repeated attacks on Saudi airports.

Araghchi said Iran was ready to assist in facilitating dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, emphasizing that a military approach would further complicate the crisis. The Saudi Foreign Ministry confirmed that the two officials discussed the latest regional escalation and efforts to address it.

The diplomatic contact came after a Houthi attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on October 10 killed 13 people and injured more than 300. A separate attack on October 11 killed another person and injured 11.

The call marks a significant diplomatic development as Saudi Arabia faces renewed attacks and regional efforts to contain the conflict intensify.
