IRAN STRIKES US BASES IN JORDAN AFTER AMERICAN ATTACK ON LARAK ISLAND

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have launched a combined missile and drone operation against US military positions in Jordan. The attack came hours after American forces struck two IRGC missile launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC said its operation, codenamed Punishment of the Aggressor, targeted the King Hussein and Al Azraq bases. It claimed to have destroyed technical and repair infrastructure as well as enemy fighter deployment sites, inflicting significant damage.

Explosions were reported near Aqaba in southern Jordan and at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in eastern Jordan, both of which host US military personnel. A US source told Fox News that nearly all missiles had been intercepted by American air defences.

The US official confirmed the Larak Island strikes targeted launchers that were observed preparing to fire rockets carrying sea mines into the strait. Iranian media reported at least two people killed and two wounded in the attack. The IRGC vowed that every attack will be met with even more devastating responses.

The IRGC has also reportedly fired missiles at US Navy ships in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian state broadcaster Press TV. However, this claim has not been independently verified.

What happens when both sides are willing to escalate and neither is willing to back down.
