Iran Threatens to Strike All U.S. Bases Across Middle East if Another Iranian Tanker Is Hit
Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has issued a new warning to Washington, threatening a major expansion of attacks if the United States strikes another Iranian commercial or oil tanker.
The Iranian military command warned that if the U.S. sinks even one more Iranian vessel, Iranian forces would launch missile attacks against U.S. military bases and American assets across the Middle East without prior warning.
The warning follows the latest U.S. strikes that destroyed five Iranian oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman and near Kharg Island. Washington said the attacks were carried out after Iranian forces targeted U.S. Navy vessels with ballistic missiles.
Tehran has responded by attacking or threatening commercial shipping around the Strait of Hormuz, while the IRGC has warned that any further U.S. attacks on Iranian tankers could trigger a significantly wider military response.
The latest threat raises the possibility of the confrontation spreading beyond the maritime battlefield, potentially placing U.S. bases and military facilities across the Gulf and wider Middle East at greater risk.
The warning comes as Iran and the United States exchange increasingly direct attacks on military and maritime targets. Iran has also announced attacks on 10 vessels near the Strait of Hormuz following the destruction of its tankers by U.S. forces.
The situation remains highly fluid. Iran’s threat represents a declared warning of potential escalation and does not confirm that further attacks on U.S. bases are imminent.
