Iran warns Persian Gulf states of retaliation if US launches new strikes – Reuters
Iran has warned Persian Gulf states that any new US attack on its territory would prompt strikes on critical energy infrastructure and other regional targets, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing five sources familiar with the discussions.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi conveyed the warning in contacts with Saudi, Turkish and Qatari officials and Pakistan’s army chief, while urging Washington’s regional allies to press President Donald Trump to return to diplomacy, a senior regional diplomat cited by Reuters said.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman subsequently urged Trump to delay military action, pursue negotiations and seek a ceasefire, the diplomat and Persian Gulf sources cited by Reuters said.
