Iranian Cleric Says US Underestimates Iran’s Asymmetric Warfare Capabilities
Alireza Arafi, the Friday prayer leader in the Iranian city of Qom, has claimed that the United States has significant weaknesses in the current conflict and accused Washington of underestimating Iran’s military capabilities.
Speaking about the ongoing war, Arafi said one of the United States’ main weaknesses was its alleged lack of understanding of Iran’s methods of asymmetric and guerrilla warfare.
«“One of the weaknesses of the United States is its lack of knowledge of asymmetric warfare methods. The enemy does not understand Iran’s new methods of asymmetric and guerrilla warfare, and it will see other aspects of them as well.”»
Arafi also argued that widespread hostility toward the United States around the world represented another major weakness for Washington.
«“Another weakness of the United States is the global hatred and resentment directed toward it. Today, because of America’s fundamental injustices, the hearts of the majority of the world’s peoples are filled with hatred toward this arrogant power.”»
His remarks come amid continuing tensions and military confrontation between Iran and the United States, with Iranian officials repeatedly insisting that Washington has underestimated Tehran’s ability to conduct unconventional and asymmetric operations.
Arafi suggested that the United States still believes it is operating according to a “Hollywood movie” mindset, while warning that Iran’s adversaries would encounter further aspects of the country’s military strategy.
