Iranian Media Highlights Missile Range Following Caspian Sea Incident

Iranian state-aligned and security-affiliated media have circulated missile range maps following the reported Ukrainian strike on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea, claiming that all of Ukraine falls within the operational range of Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities.

The maps, widely shared across pro-Iranian media channels, prominently featured the Khorramshahr-4 ballistic missile, which is reported to have a range of up to 2,000 kilometers. The publication is widely viewed as a psychological messaging campaign intended to warn Ukraine against conducting further long-range attacks involving Iranian interests.

While Iranian officials have not publicly threatened the use of any specific missile system, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran possesses the capability to respond beyond its borders and reiterated that the attack on the vessel “cannot go unanswered.

The messaging comes amid heightened diplomatic tensions after Iran condemned the reported strike, summoned Ukraine’s chargé d’affaires in Tehran, and warned that it reserves the right to respond to actions it considers a threat to its national security.
