Iranian Parliament Speaker Accuses U.S. of “Theater Diplomacy”
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who is also involved in the country’s negotiating efforts, has accused Washington of conducting what he described as “Theater Diplomacy.”
In a post on X, Ghalibaf criticized the United States for repeatedly shifting between threats of major military action and calls for negotiations, arguing that Washington’s pressure strategy has failed to force Tehran into accepting its demands.
Iran has maintained that it would only agree to a deal if the United States fulfills its previous commitments and provides clear guarantees regarding any agreement.
The statement reflects growing differences between Washington and Tehran despite recent signals of diplomatic engagement, with Iran continuing to insist that military pressure cannot be used as a substitute for concrete negotiations.
