IRAN’S NEW SUPREME LEADER LAUNCHES A BOOK ABOUT THE NEW WORLD ORDER IN BAGHDAD
Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader since March 2026, has unveiled the Arabic edition of his book The Dawn of a New World Order in Baghdad.
The launch happened at a formal conference in the Iraqi capital attended by former Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, senior Iraqi parliamentarians, and Iran’s Ambassador to Baghdad.
A man who assumed leadership of Iran during the biggest crisis in the Islamic Republic’s history, while losing both his father and his wife to American and Israeli strikes, is now presenting his intellectual vision of what should replace the current world order to Arab political figures in their own language.
That is not just a book launch. That is a statement of intention.
Iraq as the venue is deliberate. Baghdad sits at the intersection of American influence and Iranian reach. Launching this book there says Iran’s vision is being taken seriously in the Arab world’s most strategically complex capital.
The book’s premise aligns with what Iran has been demonstrating militarily. The American-led world order is being challenged. A new arrangement is forming. Iran intends to help shape it.
Whether that new order serves ordinary people better is the question no book conference can answer alone.
What do you think a new world order should look like for Africa and the Global South?
