QUESTION…
Southern Provincial Minister, Cornelius Mweetwa says his list is not part of those being recruited as teachers and health workers and he suspects the people shortlisted are not “local”. He says his Administration did NOT participate in the recruitment process and wants the list recalled and process to start afresh.
I have some questions for Comrade Mweetwa;
The people who applied to be recruited as teachers were not asked to submit PROOF OF RESIDENCE to prove that they were indeed residents/locals residing in the places they applied from, so how does Hon Cornelius Mweetwa know that the list of those who have been shortlisted are not residents or locals of Southern Province in the absence of proof of residence to show and prove that indeed they reside in Southern Province?
Was he using tribe or surnames to identify who is a local or not?
Does he realise that Zambians of all tribes and names are residents or locals everywhere and not just in the provinces they originally come from?
What is Mweetwa really trying to say, that only people with surnames from his Province must be recruited in his Province?
What really makes one to be called a local, is it because they reside in that particular locality or it is because they bear a surname or belong to a tribe from that particular province?
Where was Comrade Mweetwa all this time to bring the issue today when the names of the successful candidates are about to be published?
Is this a gimmick to delay the recruitment process or what?
Whose job is it to recruit teachers, is it the Minister or the Teaching Service Commission?
Why is the Minister, a politician with no authority to deal with teacher recruitment being the one to choose who should and who should not be recruited?
Is the Minister saying that his personal friends and relatives are missing on the list therefore it should be recalled?
Comrade Mweetwa please answer and clear yourself before we characterise you.
